Floral Designer
Before taking the leap of faith and deciding to live a more creative life, I was a full time Emergency Paediatric Nurse. Don’t get me wrong, I loved this honourable career and all it had to offer me. And while helping to save lives alongside some of the best healthcareprofessionals you could ever meet might’ve seemed like enough, I’ve always felt that I have more to give the world. I feared my passions and interests elsewhere, would remain completely undiscovered or gone to waste, even.
Perhaps Nursing accentuated that cliché ‘life’s too short’ perspective for me, but I found it truer than ever - not only in the sense that we have limited time, but a reminder to look after yourself during that time, and this is how I’ll look after myself - by pouring my heart and soul into flowers for you, on life’s most momentous occasions.
Fleur du vent
Behind the name
When so much can feel mundane, repetitious, and boring, I’d look at my Poppies or ‘flowers of the wind’ and find inspiration.
With every pop, a coloured surprise and no two whimsical stems the same, I’d ask myself - how can something be so wild and delicate at the same time?
If you asked me to describe my design style, I’d tell you it’s exactly that. Wild, delicate, a little whimsical, with a touch of surprise every now and then, and thus, ‘Fleur du vent’ was born.
